Description

The Smith & Wesson Model 29-2 is a sophisticated piece of weaponry that stands as a testament to the artistry of firearm manufacturing. Finished in stunning nickel, this Model 29-2 is an elegant blend of form and function. Its highly reflective finish draws attention to the exquisite detail and craftsmanship of the gun, accentuated by the stark contrast of the target wood grips.

The Model 29-2 has many notable features enhancing its appeal. Its 6-inch barrel, a marker of the gun's profile, is pinned and recessed, an attribute that speaks to an era of Smith & Wesson production that prioritized these details for strength and durability.

This particular revolver also boasts a red ramp front sight, a feature that significantly improves sight picture and aids in quick target acquisition. The Model 29-2 also comes with a target hammer and a narrower version of the target trigger, design elements that offer improved control and precision. The target trigger allows for a more delicate and sensitive pull, thus facilitating better shot placement.

As for the date of manufacture, the "N" prefix in the serial number indicates production sometime between 1969 and 1986. Given the specifics of this Model 29-2 – including its pinned and recessed barrel and the narrow target trigger – it can be inferred that this revolver was manufactured in the 1970s. The practice of pinning and recessing barrels was abandoned by Smith & Wesson in 1982.

This Smith & Wesson Model 29-2 is a remarkable firearm that combines power, precision, and aesthetic appeal. Finished in nickel, with target wood grips and a suite of performance-enhancing features, this revolver is a shining example of the craftsmanship and innovation for which Smith & Wesson is renowned. As a product of the 1970s, it also holds historical interest, making it an exceptional piece for any firearm enthusiast or collector.
