Rare Kit - Outstanding Pistol

I normally buy arms in person; Only place I could find this kit was Gunprime. Transaction was simple, very smooth, and fast; thank you Gunprime!
I bought the kit not so much for the knife or medallion, but for the M&P 2.0 in 5" and Black. Had the 5" in FDE and loved it, but could not stand the UGLY TAN COLOR. S&W still doesn't make it in black with the safety, so I sold it, and bought this. Using the black 2.0 in 5" as a base, I bought a manual safety kit ( on ebay ), and installed it in 5 minutes. Then I drove out the tiny factory tritium sights, and installed the stock S&W white-dot sights ( also bought on ebay). With some judicious filing, and a little over an hour, I had them on & centered. And now, I have the M&P 2.0 version, in 5", IN BLACK, with the manual safety; Something S&W SHOULD have in their line-up, but doesn't, for some strange reason.
Same, ergonomic, boringly reliable, horribly accurate M&P, with the lighter-smoother 2.0 trigger, full-length inner frame and improved grip, as the Flat-Dark-Ugly version, only in traditional handsome BLACK, like the Good Lord meant guns to be from the start. My fourth, and, perhaps favorite of my M&P pistols, especially now that I have it just the way I want it. Thanks to Gunprime for having this discontinued base model in this kit, the upgrade was simple and easy. Even without the safety, and with the tritium sights, this is still an awesome pistol. S&W IS that one company, that consistantly makes excellent, ergonomic, accurate pistols, at a value price, right here in America. Ranks right up there with my Walther P-99, which is saying a LOT !! Get yourself one of these rare handsome 5" models!

A rare version of The M&P 2.0 5", NOT in FLAT-DARK-UGLY !!!!

Fast, Trouble-free experience. I normally do not purchase arms online, but this was a great experience. I purchased this kit, not for the knife or challenge coin at all, but for the actual pistol itself. S&W has refused to put out a black version of the 2.0, and chose instead to market the 5" strictly in FDE, which in my opinion is drop-dead ugly. I don't live or fight in the sandbox, so I don't want one. Besides, it reminds me of Baby-Puke Tan, and I'm long since done with that. Annnnnd........Black is so slimming!! And, I'm not "Tacti-Cool" enough to be a " Weekend Warrior Wannabee" I grew up in an era when black or blued steel, with occasional wood handle inserts was the norm, and that simply meant business. All Day, Every Day.
With this pistol as my base project, I found a rare manual safety kit on Ebay ( S&W won't sell them to customers, unless you send it in for the customary 6-10 week turnaround to keep their lawyers happy), and installed it in just under 5 minutes. Then, I drove out the cheesy factory S&W tritium sights, ( which are tiny, at best), and put the standard M&P 2.0 White-Dot sights back on ( Also found on New on Ebay), and centered them up. About 80 minutes with judicious filing on the oversize M&P stock sights, which are normally hydraulically loaded at the factory (go figure).
Final product: M&P 2.0 5" with safety, IN BLACK!! Piss on S&W........If they won't make it, I'll make it. Still every bit as accurate as the stock FDE model that was part of the DOD "Modular Handgun Trials", only horrendously more handsome and manly. Annnnnnd, because this is fairly light, & ergonomic, with an awesome trigger, and very accurate, it has cured me of any desire whatsoever to be patient, and wait for the eventual release of the not-even-5" Springfield SA-35 Hi-Power, whose initial release is totally botched, and plagued with finish and extractor issues on the ones they do manage to trickle out to the gun-hungry public, for corporate Beta-Testing, as well as a reputation-scarring unscrupulous price-gouging Cluster-***k. It's too bad S&W is getting some things right for once (2.0 trigger, stippling, full-length inner frame) and dropping the ball on the previously excellent variety and selection of pistols ( with & without safeties, in realistic colors, like Black). My fourth S&W ( BG-380, Shield-Plus 9mm, 2.0 in 4.25", and now 2.0 in 5"). All outstanding, boringly reliable, ergonomic, accurate, fun to shoot, annnnnd, damned handsome in plain-old git-er-done black. I'm happy now! It all worked out, thanks to the availability of this rare Spec-Kit offering, no longer currently available through S&W. Three kits left here, after me.....get you some!! You won't regret it

Gunprime was great to work with. I had to switch the FFL holder that it was being shipped to at no fault of Gunprime’s. One simple call and they had it changed and it shipped quick. Great customer service.

The pistol was as advertised and in new condition, no complaints.

I had a good experience.

This site was easy to navigate and the only site that had the m2.0 it was a quick delivery and just a good experience.

Gun prime is awesome, M&P well...

I have owned about. Dozen M&P’s since 2006. Currently have 3 of the 2.0’S.
I waited over 2 years for a black 5” 2.0. Looked everything over on S&W website came up with this. Fiber optic sights on the pro model were very cheap looking, don’t need suppressor height sights or a slide cut for an optic. Chose the Spec Series because it has steel trijicon night sights and is black. Could use a 3rd. Magazine instead of a cheap neck knife and coin.
At any rate my first outing with the gun I ran 3 magazines of federal 115gr. Black Pack Ammo, all of the empty cases landed on my feet in a big pile, dribbling out of the gun, no ejection pattern at all, even hitting me on the left wrist and I am s right handed shooter. I have a 4” compact 2.0 that eats the same ammo flawlessly also 2 glock 17’s a 2.0 shield and a m&p9c as well as a Sig legion all no problems with this ammo so it is not the ammo.
Called S&W and they want it sent in with a 6-8 week turnaround time to get it back. Gun was very dirty when I received it so it was shot before leaving the factory and it had to do the same for them, so not happy right now with S&W.
Gunprime is awesome, ordered Saturday night almost midnight it was at my FFL on Wednesday and was kept informed all the way. Excellent customer service!

A great experience!

Bought the S&W M&P M2.0 9mm recently. Used the gun from a friend first. Gun was so comfortable and accurate that I had a difficult decision to make. My current favorite 9mm was my SAR B6P, that is until I handled the S&W! It pains me to say it, but when I want a new gun, I MUST make room.... alas, the SAR had to be sacrificed. By the way, the SAR outlived every manner of 9mm you could put up against it- STI, Glock, Sig, Walther, CZ, Canik. No, really it did. I am going to do an upgrade, however. The stock trigger comes in at about a 6lb pull, and is a bit sloppy on the reset. I ordered the Apex Tactical Specialties Flat-Faced Forward Set Trigger Kit ($172). This will reduce the pull to right around 2.5lbs. Too quick for legal CC in Arizona, but its not my CC. I know I'll regret not keeping the SAR, like I did after I sold the Canik P9SF Elite, but such is life. The jury is still kind of out on the stock night sights though. I may just use white appliance paint and fill in the sights to brighten daytime visibility. By the way, the stock sights are going to be quite adequate for the average shooter, regardless of my opinion. I just prefer a hair trigger. Also ordered an Urban Carry holster #208 OWB. Man, I can't wait to go out again!!

Shoots like a dream, but the slide lock is unpredictable

Love the gun, love the added bonus gifts that came with it! Shoots great, I was surprised how accurate I stayed through 100 round practice firing at the range. Switched from the medium size grip to the small and found a perfect fit (for me)
Only issue: the slide lock is unpredictable. Sometimes you can use your thumb, sometimes you cannot no matter how hard you try.
Hoping it will break in.

Outstanding customer service

Found this item at the best price on Gunprime. This is a quality product with excellent reviews. The shipping was very fast, the ordered was placed on a Monday and it was at my FFL by Wednesday. Very pleased with the whole experience and would definitely do it again.

Great gun for a great price.

I put at least 500 rounds through my gun the very first day I received it, very accurate gun, very little recoil. And the kit that it comes in is pretty cool.
