Description
Winchester 1885 High-Wall in .45-70. This is a moden production gun made in Japan by Miroku. Rifle has been set up into a classic "Buffalo rifle" configuration with a 6x "W.M.Malcom" reproduction scope and Lyman-style diopter rear sight. A brass bead front sight is present. Iron sights are not usable currently as the scope mounts are solid. Condition is very good. Metal finish is solid without rust but shows a spot of abrasion near the muzzle - see pictures. Wood is in very good shape but shows a little bit of wear on the right side of the forend. All mechanical functions work properly; bore and chamber show a little bit of fouling. Would make for a (relatively) inexpensive way to bring a new challenge to hunting.
