Mauser P.08 "BYF/41" Luger Pistol - All Matching Very Good+ w/ No Import Markings

Mauser production P.08 Luger in very good to very fine condition. This is an early wartime production example of a Mauser Luger and shows the early "Eagle over 655" inspection markings. Other markings are otherwise the typical Mauser Luger markings, including the "41" date chamber markings, "byf" toggle link marking, and "P.08" model designation on the left receiver flat. Condition is very fine. Correct checkered walnut grips are very clean and free of damage with very light handling wear on the front of the grips. All serialized parts match with "42" markings. Magazine is entirely correct: markings are the proper "fxo" and "Eagle over 37" on magazine body and the aluminum floorplate has a matching serial to the rest of the gun. Main serial number, chamber marking, and toggle link have all been highlighted. Blued finish is in exceptional shape with some light spots on usual wear locations (very front of frame and edges of lockplate, for example) and some thinning on barrel. No rust is present on any surface and pistol shows no discoloration except for light accumulated crud on the sear bar safety lever - see pictures. No import markings or British commercial proofs are present and this pistol is almost certainly a US serviceman's war trophy although no paperwork is present; nevertheless, this is a truly exceptional Luger and a fine piece of any collection.
