Manufacturer: J Stevens Arms Company
Model: Model 520-30
Caliber: 12 Gauge
Barrel Length: 20”
This J Stevens Arm Company or Stevens Model 520-30 is a very rare and valuable find. These shotguns were adopted during World War II by the U.S. Army and this particular shotgun is in the desirable Trench Gun configuration with the correct bayonet lug adaptor and ventilated handguard. The left side of the barrel has the three-line address (partially obscured by the handguard) along with “P/Ordnance Bomb” at the breech. The left side also has the two-line gauge markings of: “PROOF TESTED-12 GAUGE/-2 3/4 INCH CHAMBER-“. Choke gauges at cylinder. The left side of the receiver is stamped “MOD. 520-30”, and it has the correct “P” proof on the barrel and front edge of the receiver. The lower left side also has the correct “P/Ordnance Bomb” proof. It has an all blue finish with smooth forearm and pistol grip stock with a black plastic buttplate. The stock and bayonet lug are correctly fitted with sling swivels. The bore is also in very nice condition as apparent in the attacked photos. This shotgun also comes with an M1917 bayonet manufactured by Remington and includes what looks to be its original scabbard. Both have the correct markings that would indicate this to be the case. This is an exceptional package and a gun that could act as the centerpiece of any collection with the bayonet affixed. It is an impressive sight to behold.
